EMS flails against being gobbled up by Collier fire districts

Marco, Naples and EMS are not included in the above because as divisions of larger governments, all pass-throughs, subsidies and loans from other department funds could not accurately be accounted for. As Ave Maria University in eastern Collier, the Immokalee Fire Department will be responsible, in part, for providing fire-rescue service to the new town.

Also, as residential and commercial development continues along U.S. 41 East — beyond the turnoff to Goodland — East Naples, Golden Gate and Ochopee will have to provide fire and rescue service. Golden Gate and Ochopee firefighters do not have ALS divisions.

Dartmouth, University of Pennsylvania v. Yale

NEW HAVEN, Connecticut, January 19. THE Bulldogs topped Dartmouth 244 to 55 while defeating Penn 217 to 79 Saturday at home. Yale had a first place finisher in 14 of the 16 events. In the 200-yard medley, the team of sophomore Tom Robinson, junior Matt Sweitzer, junior Chris Pool, and junior Alex Righi took first place with a time of 1:33.33. Freshman Matt Lee took first place in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:33.16. Junior Dennen McCloskey finished in first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.61. .

Nursing home crackdown displaces hundreds

Hundreds of Tennessee nursing home residents have been displaced this year because of serious health and safety violations that caused the facilities to lose Medicare and Medicaid funding.

Five nursing homes, with a total of 750 beds, have lost Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services funding this year over reports of patient injuries and residents being restrained without consent, among others.

School, Lindsay Roberts deny all

Oral Roberts University and its president's wife, Lindsay Roberts, issued written statements Saturday saying that claims and accusations added to a lawsuit Friday are untrue.

A report attached to the lawsuit Friday contains allegations that Roberts, 51, spent a great deal of time with an underage male.

"I live my life in a morally upright manner and throughout my marriage have never, ever engaged in any sexual behavior with any man outside of my marriage as the accusations imply," Roberts said in her statement.
